A NEW AXIUM

Today’s post digs deep into the heart of the matter when it comes to really getting in touch with and using the Law of Attraction (LOA) to succeed in anything you want.
As human beings we live and are driven by contrast.  Contrast brings about desires. We see new things, or realize there are things we had not seen before and we want them.  We think we have to do something to get the things we want and that ultimately will bring us happiness. Perhaps this is the way you have been thinking as well. I know for the longest time it was my way of thinking. Even students of the LOA sometimes think this way.  They utilize the tools of visualization to get things because they believe that will bring them happiness. Many people search for success and things to be happy. Recall when you were introduced to the LOA, perhaps here on this blog, you learned that most people who are not familiar with the LOA, use the LOA backwards and by default.  The same thing applies here. DO—HAVE—BE is the backward way of doing things.
Think about it for a second.  At this time in our history, we have more things, luxuries, technologies, toys, access etc. than at any other time in human history.  By the axiom above, DO—HAVE—BE,  that should mean more people than ever before should be happy and in fact should be the happiest they have ever been.  Do you think that is the case with the world right now?
I have learned from reading the works of great teachers like Dr. Robert Anthony, as well as Esther and Jerry Hicks that we should follow a different axiom.  The axiom new to me but eternal as any universal law is BE—DO—HAVE.
This goes hand in hand with the Law of Attraction (LOA).  Recall a key concept of using the LOA is to BELIEVE that you are in possession of what you want now. I want to point out that we need to take it one giant step further.  Success and things do not always bring happiness.  You have to BE HAPPY/SUCCESSFUL, then  opportunities to DO THINGS  are attracted to you and are presented to you to act on, and then you will HAVE the things that happy and successful people have. It is NOT A CATCH 22. If you really think about it you can be in the frame of mind of anything you want. It may not be easy at first, but it is doable.
Reassess your goals and dig deep.  See why are you trying to attain those goals?  Once you have pin pointed the ultimate WHY, then BE that way. Gratitude for where you are now, is a great way to start.  Keep being and when opportunities arise to take actions, then do and you will soon have what you want.
As always feel free to comment and share this post with anyone who may benefit from it. To your success till next time.

OPEN TO LEARN FROM ANYONE

Good day. Today’s topic is being open to learn from anyone or anywhere.  One of the things that distinguishes successful people from those who are only successful in appearance is the fact that truly successful people are always  open to learn from anyone. They do not, for a lack of better term, judge a book by its cover.
In the teachings put forth by Napoleon Hill in Think and Grow Rich,  to be successful in something requires specialized knowledge. No one can be a jack of all trades to a point where you become expert at everything. It is widely believed that it requires 10,000 hours of practice in a skill to become “an expert” in that skill. When you encounter challenges and need to overcome them you need to acquire specialized knowledge. That knowledge can come from anyone in any form, and if you are not open to learn from a variety of people, you will miss the opportunity to gain that knowledge which may be necessary for your success.
From another point of view, the Law of Attraction principles state that  there is one source of universal energy and knowledge that we all share in this world. The principle is that we humans and all things in this world past and present contribute to the expansion of the world and our thoughts and knowledge are shared within one source of “all knowledge”. Napoleon Hill called it "the infinite intelligence"; in the writings of Esther and Jerry Hicks the teachers take the collective persona of Abraham; in the book The Secret it was referred to simply as  the "source". Many teachers think that  hunches, gut instincts, and inspirational thoughts come from the knowledge base in the source. So when you are open to learning, opportunities and knowledge come in many forms. That is using the LOA to your advantage. So if you are trying to use the Law of Attraction to succeed, but are closed minded to a particular person or source of knowledge, for various reasons you are actually putting a form of resistance in the path of the knowledge that will come to help you achieve your goals.
I have learned  and am constantly learning from children from 1 year of age to 4 years of age. I have learned how to fix my garbage disposal or cook traditional El Salvadorian and Iranian meals from YouTube, I am always open to learn from anyone because I know that the answers to my questions can come from many different sources. I listen and frequently double check the facts, but I have rarely found that the source of knowledge I was seeking was wrong.
It is a good advice to trust but verify, but that is not to say count something, or someone out because of who they are, what their background is, what type of education they have had or how they dress. Many of the most successful people I have come across, have had no more than a high school education, or less. I have also learned handiwork from people dressed in 3 piece suits and/or with PhDs. Keep your eyes open for opportunities to come to you in response to your asking for and visualizing your goals and they will come. You just have to be open minded to accept help from any source no matter how unlikely you think that source may be.
I hope you enjoyed this post and as always feel free to click on the comment and leave us your thoughts so we can all benefit. To you success.

PRACTICING THE BASICS

Good day, this blog post comes from an experience that I had in my Martial Arts class last week, that brought about the realization that no matter how advanced “you think you are” you can always benefit from going back to the basics. I have been practicing martial arts in one form or another since 1985. This week when I went to my JKD class, my long time instructor started the class by going over the basic punches. We practiced the jab, the cross, the hook, and the uppercut.  Throughout each punch, my instructor went over the mechanics, where the body is supposed to be, what your footwork should entail, etc. When we went over the hook, I realized that somehow, I had lapsed into throwing arm punches instead of putting my body behind the punch. It was a humbling experience since I have been doing this punch incorrectly for many years now. In my mind, I thought that I should have known better, but in retrospect when I think about it, I have not practiced basic punching for a long time.  I have been concentrating on advanced trapping, and combinations, thinking that I “knew” the basics already. Somehow though, either I got lazy or a bad habit crept in and my foundation was ignored and it just built and built until suddenly I was doing the technique incorrectly.
The same goes for The Law of Attraction. I have not practiced The Law of Attraction as long as I have practiced martial arts, so I have not had the chance to become lackadaisical in practicing the basics, but I wanted to bring this point up where most of the readers of this blog may be beginners in using LOA, so that your foundation is strong and good habits are developed early on.
No matter how far you go with using The Law of Attraction,  it is advantageous to come back to the basics frequently. Review what LOA is all about. Review the basics of visualization. Take some needed time to concentrate on your visualization. Get yourself in a quiet place, and really really concentrate with all 5 senses. How often do actually use all of your senses in your visualization during your routine day? The basics are the foundation and there is nothing more important than doing this because to do this correctly means success, and it means everything that you ever wanted. So it is important to get back to the basics. Imagine if the foundation of the building you work in or live in was not solid? Need I say more?
Click on the basics posts on the right side of the main page and go back and review the foundations of how to use The Law of Attraction and see if you have been missing or omitting some steps? Evaluate your techniques and also evaluate how much success have you had recently with using LOA to succeed? Could there be room for improvement by using the basics and concentrating like it was the first time you have learned about LOA? You bet there is.
This type of introspection allows many successful people reevaluate their goals, and techniques and make subtle changes needed to continue on with their success in other areas of their lives. People do this type thing for performance, exercise, home building projects, big work projects, but not for their self-development. Ironically it is in the area of self-development that most of the foundation for your success in other areas stems from.
I hope you enjoyed this post and it made you think a bit. Feel free to share this and as always here is to your success.

JURY DUTY: PERCEPTION AND CHOICE

Greetings, I am so amazed at how learning situations come about for me when I am open to receive them.
Today I was at jury duty and something interesting happened. At beginning of the day we were put through an orientation so we could have an idea of what the process would entail. During that phase the senior superior court judge came to welcome  us. The bulk of his welcome was that they understand how much of imposition this is, and how grateful they are that we take the time to do this and without us the justice system would not work. Very positive and very much of a gratitude based type of message. At the end of the message I felt very good about being there.  I felt appreciated, I felt positive, I felt like I was making a difference.
The lady next to me however, had a completely different reaction to the same message. Right out of the bat as soon as the judge finished thanking us, her impression was “oh my God I hate doing this, and I hate being here. I feel like I am trapped”.  When I asked what she did for a living she said “nothing, I am retired and do nothing. I just golf”. Needless to say I was amazed at how we both hearing the same message had a completely opposite reaction to it. I felt positive emotions, and gratitude and significance, while she felt trapped, frustration, hate, and misery.  So that highlighted the  lesson that at any moment  I HAVE A CHOICE ABOUT HOW I REACT TO SOMETHING that is happening to me even if I have no control over it.
I wanted to share this example with you so that you can see that if you are aware of The Law of Attraction, and you are aware that your emotions are warning signs as well as an indicator of what is to come, you can actually filter these situations to your benefit. When you realize that you are heading down the negative emotional side you can correct it immediately. As you know it is allot easier to correct something that is in the process of manifesting than something that has already happened, and has become your reality. It is very difficult to change things that we have perceived in our reality and they are right in our face sort to say. So use your emotions and remember that you always have a choice about how you feel;  about circumstances that are happening to you and by making the choice to reach for that positive feeling, even if it is a little bit at a time, you are going to set yourself up for a more rewarding and positive circumstance. It is those little positive circumstances that will lead to success.
The interesting thing in this whole experience was that when we were actually selected to go into a big case for jury selection despite all the negativity, I had heard the day before,  I was so impressed at the fact that how accommodating the people are when actually sitting in the court room and being asked to serve by an authority figure. Even though they were given ample opportunity to get excused they actually did admit that they can juggle schedules, go in after business hours to make up work they would be missing, even willing to serve when their employer would not pay for the entire length of their service.
It seems when the people are given a purpose and an opportunity to make a difference, or are asked to help, their attitude changes from negative to positive and people are willing to put aside the discomforts and inconveniences to actually make an impact.  That was a new point of view for me which in hind sight makes  perfect sense.
So the bigger lesson is that we need to realize that the fact that we use our emotional warning signals to chance our attitudes is THE BIGGEST AND MOST IMPORTANT SERVICE we can perform for ourselves and our society. There is no bigger impact that we can make than becoming successful and part of that is being able to control our reactions to things that happen where we feel like we have no control. We do and my experience has showed me that even the most negative person can change their reaction in an instant given enough motivation. In this case, the simple fact that they are making a difference.
I hope you enjoyed this post and please as always feel free to share it with anyone who may benefit from it.
